I’ve been a fan of BPI for as long as I can remember. Their quality of service is fast and good and their phone and internet mobile banking is a breeze.

Then enter this new feature of BPI that was launched last June 1 that would again make the lives of their clients easier. BPI really never cease to surprise people.

I have known BPI’s mobile banking even before but I never really use the service because it has a charge. So when I first heard of the ‘mobile banking’ thing again of BPI, I though to myself that there’s really nothing new about it. But when I read it for the second time, that’s when I found out that hey, it’s an Internet-based BPI Express Mobile, which means I just need to be connected to the internet using my mobile to be able to access my account online. Well, I know that connecting to the net through GPRS also has a corresponding fee but since now that there’s a wi-fi connection almost everywhere, then accessing ones account through this new feature won’t be a problem at all.

So what’s the difference between the internet banking and the internet-based mobile banking? Obviously, the mobile. See, before you can’t acess your BPI account online using a mobile phone and do some transactions because it’s limited and restricting because bpiexpressonline.com requires java. But since there’s now an internet-based mobile banking which has a user-friendly graphical interface, banking anytime and anywhere through a mobile phone has never been easier.

To be able to access Internet-based BPI Express Mobile, one needs to register and download an application into his/her phone. This very cool service also allows clients to do important financial transactions such as funds transfer, both to enrolled as well un-enrolled accounts, pay bills to over 300 merchants, reload prepaid phones and cards. To top it off, BPI’s new facility also offers Internet-based Mobile Mall, a feature in which the Mall becomes just a thumb-click away. Through Mobile Mall, clients can both shop and reserve movie tickets through their mobiles. It likewise offers gift suggestions, great deals and big discounts which are available only to registered users.
