2012
2012 is another disaster film that tells how the world is going to end. Lots of film have the same theme and plot already that sometimes these kind of films get too boring and predictable. Think of Independence Day, The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Knowing. But then again, I told myself that I have to watch this film no matter what because it is somewhat similar to the Bible’s book of Revelation. And guess what, I love reading that last part of that book.
2012, I must say, is a very heartwarming film. It will give you mixed emotions. It will not fail to keep you at the edge of your seat and will keep your heart thumping for I think, 3/4 part of the whole film.
Somehow, the car scene, where Jackson (John Cusack) and his family are running away from the tremendous disaster that’s slowly tearing their city apart, is very unbelievable. It’s so unrealistic how all the roads and buildings are falling apart and yet, they there are, bruiseless and scratchless?
The movie best exemplifies how those who are in power and rich can easily use their authority to be able to survive and save themselves without minding the others.
The story of Dr. Satnam Tsurutani, the Indian friend of the scientist Adrian, and the Chinese workers who build the ark, tears my heart. How could some people be so ruthless, insensitive and selfish especially during those times.
I would like to commend the characters, great cinematography, editing and effects done in 2012. All in all, 2012 is a nice film but not really best. All along, I expect the film to be more tragic.
What’s happening now in our world is like 2012 already. The only difference is that, all the tragedies are being thrown to us little by little and not in full blown.
Better be nice, the END, I sense, is really NEAR. I am not saying though that it’s going to be on 2012.
