It’s almost every girl’s dream to don the trendiest outfit in town and slip into the daintiest shoes like Cinderella’s, how much more to be a model of a popular magazine? And like a fairy godmother, Meg Magazine will make one young girl’s dream come true with “Meg Face Search 2008.” However, the magic won’t only last till midnight because the lucky girl who will be crowned as “MEG Face of the Year” will be MEG’s cover girl for the month of October.

Out of the thousand young aspirants who thronged at Alabang Town Center, Glorietta, and Trinoma last April and May 2008 for Meg’s Grand Go-See, only thirty were selected, and this number was trimmed down to the Final Ten. All the ten, pretty and smart girls underwent an interview led by Sari Yap, President and CEO of MEGA Publishing Group; Lorraine Belmonte, VP for Editorial & Production, and the MEG editorial team.

The lucky girls who made it to the Top 10 were introduced to the press last July 15, 2008 at the Alchemy Bar in Pasig City. Peewee Reyes-Isidro, Meg Magazine’s Editor-in-chief, gave a small talk about their aim to discover new and fresh faces through this search, and even let out a very interesting trivia.

Did you know that Ehra Madrigal and the ever popular Marimar and Dyesebel star Marian Rivera, are actually a product of this Meg Face Search? Now, that’s really interesting.

Afterwards, a short AVP was presented showing the one month preparation that the ten girls have undergone to prepare them for their much coveted dream. The Final Ten, who were all pretty in pink, strut and charm their way to the press as they introduced themselves one by one:

Meryl Cerise “Barbie” Perey, the “vintage belle,” Maria Beatriz “Bea” Hernandez is the “artsy” girl. Then there’s also the “polished preppy” Ines Garcia, Gandahari “Simone” Carpio, “the performer,” Katrina Margaret “Kat” Espe, the “free spirited” lass, while Jonah “O” J Hernandez is the “global girl.” Included in the bevy are also “Rock princess” Carmina Isabelle “Carms” Bautista Topacio, and the nursing student Jocelyn Ann “Joann” D. Santiago, who labeled herself as the “glamourosa.” Last but surely not the least are “geek chic” Justine Ashley Steier, and Mary Anne “Me-Ann” Dimalanta, the morena and “sporty” girl in the group.
